Fact 1 🌊 The Zaporozhian Cossacks were feared across the Black Sea — they raided Ottoman ports on fast, lightweight boats called chaiky (seagulls). The Ottomans called them «the terror of the sea».

Fact 2 ⚔️

A Cossack chaika carried up to 70 warriors and could outrun any Ottoman warship. No heavy cannons — just speed, courage, and surprise.

Fact 3 🏴‍☠️

The most famous Cossack Hetman, Ivan Sirko, led over 50 sea campaigns and was never defeated. The Ottomans believed he had supernatural powers.
